2.2 billion people globally that is 30% of worlds population does not have access to safe water at home.
The only way to reduce TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) of water and make it potable, safe & palatable is conventional technology known as Reverse Osmosis along with ultra violet treatment. But this technology comes along with certain disadvantages such as :
- More than 60% wastage of precious water during purification process due to RO membrane technology.
- High Maintenance cost of operating as it consumes more energy of electricity.
- High Replacement cost of RO Membranes as it has to be frequently replaced.
Considering the above disadvantages specially the wastage of water and removal of essential minerals from the water the (NGT) National Green Tribunal has directed the Ministry of Environment and Forests to issue by the year-end a notification banning RO purifiers where total dissolved solids (TDS) in water are below 500 milligrams per liter.
Watsoft NMRO Technology (Non Membrane Reverse Osmosis-Capacitive Deionization Technology)
Non Membrane Reverse Osmosis is an advanced technology which uses NMRO-CDI cell unit powered by DC current to remove and reduce totally dissolved solids from the input raw water.
The input water passes through the NMRO-CDI cell which attracts and retains the dissolved salt ions to the cell plates thus reducing the total dissolved solids of the output water
